Christmas!

So the Christmas extravaganza is over. It is always hectic and a little stressful to accomodate our families and to try our best to fit everyone in, but we made it! We have taken the attitude of doing what is best for Brayden (and soon to be Keaton) and trying to still see as much family as we can.

Drew's parents and sister came down Christmas Eve afternoon to share in the festivities here in Georgetown.

One Christmas tradition we started was on Christmas Eve we go to church. (Of course we started this tradition before Brayden had a terrible aversion to church!) So we went to Gano on Thursday night which is where my parents and sisters were as well. Brayden lasted through a few songs, and then got upset and COULD NOT be consoled so him and myself spent the Christmas Eve service in the nursery playing with trucks. I guess we did follow tradition, but just spent it in the nursery.

We then went to my parent's house where we had dinner with my parents and sisters and Drew's parents and sister. Brayden got a big catepillar truck, musical drumsticks, and a basketball goal. He loved showing off his hoop skills and kept shooting the ball over and over. I got lots of maternity clothes, and I gave Drew his PS3. Yes, I am a great wife. :)

Christmas morning was spent at our house, and Drew's parents and sister were here to see Brayden. His face was priceless when he came down the steps and saw the toys underneath the tree. He had a lifesize Elmo, another catepillar truck, a bounce turtle, and a cars suitcase. Gran and Grandpa gave him a fisher price nativity set that is precious! He kept running from one toy to the other. Drew's family left shortly after his presents and we hung out at the house for a while.

After nap time we headed to Drew's aunt's house in Cincinnati for Christmas night. (We missed my dad's family but it was impossible to fit everyone in!) There we had a yummy dinner and Brayden received a whole bunch of Disney's Cars gear for his big boy room.

We went on up north to Drew's parents house that night. We did their family Christmas on Saturday. Brayden got a potty seat, and the fisher price little people animals a-z collection which is awesome. I collect the willow tree figures, and his mom got me the willow tree nativity set!! It is beautiful!

Sunday afternoon we headed home to KY, and went to see my mom's family as soon as we got back. It was nice to see my aunt from Florida, and it was fun watching all the little cousins running around!

I am really enjoying my time off, and this week am catching up with family and spending time with my sweet boy!

Sounds like you balanced the Christmas travel well. I completely understand how hard it is to make it all work. Throw in working fulltime and it gets real tricky!
We are looking forward to seeing you on New Year's Day! It will be so much fun watching our big boys play!
