This Week

Well as of tomorrow I will be seven weeks along! How exciting! Only a few more weeks till our doctor's visit. I have been trucking along- still very sick. I have lost 7 pounds, and have trouble eating and keeping anything. I try to stay positive, but work is the hardest when you feel bad. I really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. I was very touched by the ladies in our Sunday School class who have set up for us to get dinner some nights, because they knew how sick I have been. It means a lot to have people go out of their way for you. I almost feel bad that it is making me THIS sick. I can eat milkshakes, and salads for dinner but I have to be careful with those as well as not to get sick!

Nursery

Well this weekend Drew and I rearranged the upstairs for the baby with the help of my dad moving furniture! We made our office a guest bedroom with a bed and dresser (given to us by my grandparents) and it looks really nice! The old guest bedroom is now empty, and ready to be a nursery! I cleaned out the closet, and put the clothes in that we already have. (I got a few outfits and my mom got us one.) We are going to use the crib and changing table that Drew's mom used for him and Audra so I am excited about that. We will just be looking for a glider to put in the room. And of course, in a few months we will be looking to decorate more with pink or blue. :)
We are six and half weeks along, and I am still having quite a bit of nausea and sickness, and actually left work early on Friday. I am just praying that I can get through the days ok.

Max

This is a funny story about the baby bean. My aunt Carole (my mom's sister) lives in Florida and has a four year old little girl named Evin. Every night Evin gives a mommy sandwich (a big hug), a daddy sandwich, and she also has to do a cousin Drew sandwich every night. (I don't know why she chooses Drew!) Anyway, the other night she was going through all of her "sandwich hugs" and she said she had to give a Ashley sandwich because she was having a baby. And then she said she had to give a Max sandwich. Carole asked who Max was, and she said it was Ashley and Drew's baby. Carole said, "Now Evin, they don't know what they are having yet." And Evin said, "I know Mommy but until God sends the baby down from heaven I am calling it Max." I thought that was pretty funny.
So Max is doing pretty well. I can tell what a loved baby this is going to be!

Bronchitis

I knew I wasn't crazy- I went to the doctor today and baby bean and myself have bronchitis. So be praying for us! I am tired so this is a short blog tonight!

A Different Person

Being pregnant really makes me feel like a different person. I realized the things I haven't been eating are MEAT! If you know me at all, then you know my love for meat, but every time that is offered in a meal I can't eat it. WEIRD!
My stomach is never at rest. It is either quesy bccause it isn't full, or quesy because it is early in the morning, or quesy because it feels like it. (The vomiting has gotten much better though!) I have been wanting french fries all the time. I was sad today because I wanted some from the cafeteria, and they had run out. (I have never eaten anything from the cafeteria before either!)
It is hard and fun to be pregnant. Still soaking in!

Much Better!

Well today was a MUCH better day than yesterday. I really appreciate all the thoughts, calls and prayers. They helped!!! I've heard you have good days and bad days, and I was just glad to have a good day after yesterday.
My eating habits are still different. I can't eat a lot at one time. I ate my french fries for dinner but I couldn't eat the nuggets. Then twenty minutes later I could eat only half of a thing of applesauce. I get full quick, and and hungry again quick.
This is definitely a change- but I am excited about what to come!!

A Rough Day

Well today was the first day back and it was ROUGH!! I threw up several times (in a trash can outside my classroom.) My poor students kept asking me what the matter was. My principal actually sent me home today and took over my class so I could home and rest. I am just praying tomorrow is better than today.
Drew is being great- he has bought me soup and plain bagels- and waiting on me to eat for two hours. He is being good!

Morning Sickness

Well Baby Beckett is showing off, the nausea as now been accompianed with getting sick. I have been nauseous around the clock, and as of last night started getting sick. Supposedly if you are prone to motion sickness (which I am) morning sickness is worse. Do not be mistaken by the name- it's not just in the morning!
I also couldn't eat the pepperonis on our pizza last night-which is so not normal! I haven't been craving anything, but smells of random things and certain foods bother me.
I'm a little worried to head back to work and get the schedule going again with this new development. I think I am going to have to train my students to deal with Mrs. Beckett getting sick.
Hopefully this will calm down in a little bit!

And another symptom!

Well the last twenty four hours have been a lot of nausea. No getting sick, thankfully, but the nausea has hit. I've heard that it is common through the first thirteen weeks. I don't think Drew was expecting these symptoms so suddenly, because I definitely don't look pregnant. I really do feel it now though! I hope it gets a little better before then, but again I am glad Baby Beckett is showing himself/herself again!

A Fun Weekend

Well we had a fun weekend telling others about the exciting news! Blake and Lauren came into town, and we definitely suprised them with the news. We are excited though to have friends going through the same thing!
We went to Kohls, and I bought some neutral baby clothes. I just couldn't help myself! There are some yellow and green sleepers, some really cute green and white striped pants, and a little halloween outfit for next year. They are stinking cute. My thoughts are that if baby is a girl she can wear any color bows. :) I cleaned out the guest room closet today, and put the new clothes in. Now it is a nursery, and that is crazy!
So we are five weeks along, and our baby is the size of a sesame seed! I haven't gained any weight yet. I am doing pretty well besides some stomach issues and headaches. Drew is being a good husband/daddy. He has been up with me in the night when I can't sleep or I'm not feeling well. I think it is sinking in with him more.
I have had a week off of work, so I will be going back on Monday...I will be excited to tell everyone!

A Fun New Symptom

Well if you don't want to hear about the ugly part of pregnancy, I wouldn't keep reading!
Last night I couldn't sleep because of constipation! Yuck! My stomach was in knots all night long. I have really never had this problem before, so I know it has to do with baby growing in there.
As much as it stinks, it makes me excited to because it shows that the baby is growing and changing!

We are Pregnant!

Well as of this week, Drew and I discovered that we are going to have a baby! We are very excited!! We have had lots of fun telling our friends and family. Our baby is going to be very blessed to have wonderful grandparents, aunts (uncles will come sooner or later :), and lots of friends. We are very excited to know that baby will have Ella, Ivy, and Caleb so close in age to play with!

We are now five weeks along, and our due date is around the middle of June. :) I will be enormous at our anniversary! I don't feel much different as of yet. I have been a little tired, but haven't had any morning sickness or soreness. I'm ok without that right now!

We have thought about some names: Brayden Andrew for a boy and Ryann Elizabeth for a girl!
